About Peter Tesei
Peter J. Tesei was elected First Selectman of the Town of Greenwich, Connecticut in November of 2007, with 68% of the vote and re-elected in 2009 by 66% plurality garnering 800 more votes than in 2007.
Prior to serving as First Selectman, Peter Tesei served on the Board of Estimate and Taxation for 10 years, 1998 -2007, serving as Chairman for six years. During his tenure he was Board Clerk, Vice Chairman and member of the Budget Committee.
In 1987, at the age of 18 Peter became the youngest ever elected to the Greenwich RTM. He served as the District 9 (Pemberwick/Glenville) Delegation Vice Chairman and Chairman during his tenure, 1988 -1997.
Peter has served as a Board member of the United Way of Greenwich, American Red Cross Greenwich Chapter and is currently a member of the Board of the Greenwich Council of Boy Scout's America and the Greenwich Symphony Orchestra.
Peter was a Vice President of the Wealth Management Group of BNY/Mellon Wealth Management. On December 5, 2005, he was recognized by the Fairfield County Business Journal as one of 40 under 40 business leaders demonstrating achievement and promise.
Peter is a graduate of the University of Connecticut. On September 19, 2008, he was honored by UCONN, for demonstrated leadership and achievement as one of 40 under 40 outstanding Alumni.
Peter is a life-long, 5th generation Greenwich resident. He and his wife, Jill reside in Cos Cob, and are the proud parents of a daughter, Caroline and a son, James.
